Our outdoor games are played on the Roamr app, and its makers also operate the online shop and the game sales process. If you want to try it out before you buy, there’s a free demo game on their site you can use to check out the steps below in advance.

When you buy a game, you’ll receive a confirmation email and a second one with a voucher code. Click the Redeem Voucher button to get started – it will open the Roamr Voucher Redeemer.

If it’s your first game, click the Register link at the bottom to create an account. Enter your email address and a password – make a note of it as you’ll need it to log in to the app.

You’ll then be sent an email to verify your address. Please check your junk mail folder if it doesn’t arrive quickly. Occasionally, some people have found that the confirmation email doesn’t get through. We’re working with Roamr to resolve this, but for the moment the only workaround is to try registering with another email address. Click the link in the email to verify your address.

Go back to the voucher email and click Redeem Voucher again. The voucher will open in the Redeemer – click Submit to add it to your account.

Now download the free app if you haven’t already.
Open the app and tap Sign In. Enter the email address and password you used to redeem the voucher.

Your new game will appear in the Games tab of the app.
Tap it to get started. Enter a team name, take a team photo if you like, then tap Submit. A QR code will appear.

Now you’re ready to add other players. Other people on your team can download the app and have a copy of the game on their own phones, which will stay in sync with yours as you solve the puzzles. They need to tap the Register button when they open the app and each create their own account. They’ll also get a confirmation email, and once they’ve clicked the link to verify their address they can sign in, tap Join and scan the QR code on your screen.
